Cris Falcão
Cris Falcão is the Managing Director Artist and Label Strategy and GM Latin for Virgin Music Group. In January of 2020, she was tapped with leading the expansion of Ingrooves’ into Brazil. The expansion began with the signing of GR6, the largest funk label in Brazil, which includes a roster of artists frequently appearing on the top of the Brazilian music charts. Three years later the Brazil list of current clients reaches more than 100 different labels with artists such as ANAVITORIA (F/Simas), Claudia Leitte, Criolo and legendary ones as Lulu Santos, Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento.
Falcão graduated in Economics and later on added a MBA in Marketing to her academic journey. She started and developed her career in the financial market, having experience in the automotive industry and the finance area of a major consulting company (Accenture).
In 2004, she joined one of the largest independent music publishers in Brazil. As a publisher with more than 60 years of tradition, facing all the changes in the transition from the physical to digital market, Falcão became a specialist in copyright management.
In 2018 she founded Cada Instante, a label, publisher and accelerator of artists designed to strengthen the independent music scene. In 2019, she became the head of Brazil’s chapter of the international NGO Women in Music, where she has activated in favor of the role of women in the Brazilian music market through workshops, partnerships with brands and festivals, and conferences throughout Brazil.
In parallel to her career trajectory as an entrepreneur/intrapreneur in the Brazilian music industry, Falcão also acts as a teacher in music business and copyright courses. She also dedicates part of her time to mentoring non-profit projects aimed at developing artists and music entrepreneurs.
